Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is the name of the Chi Kung system that is practiced and taught in Shaolin Wahnam.
In Shaolin Wahnam we have a direct and close lineage back to the Shaolin Temple and due to this we are teaching the “essence” of these wonderful and precious arts.
Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is based on the concept of Yin/Yang harmony. If Yin and Yang are balancing and flowing in harmony then you have a stability that is in a constant balanced perpetual motion.
In a person, the harmonious balance of Yin/Yang mean that you have a good smooth flow of chi, this means that the person is healthy in mind, body and energy. If a person body is out of balance, in other words if Yin and Yang are not balanced or harmonious then you have ill health.
The Yin/Yang theory and dynamic is a relatively simple concept. You have two “forces” balancing and influencing each other. Simple in theory, but profound in its depth. There are many factors that effect this process and the Yin/Yang balance. The two “halves” are constantly being changed by factors, and when this happens the harmony moves and shifts until the equilibrium is returned.
A person's chi flows know it’s own balance and the body has many checks and balances to maintain it’s holistic state. The body is continually adapting and shifting to the environment and it influences, the body and mind constantly change the chi flow to help regulate it systems and state. A good example of this is temperature, if the environment becomes too hot then the body will sweat to cool off, and the blood vessels will expand to let the blood flow to the skin, to allow it to release heat. This is all done with out any conscious thought or effort. This is the mind/body adapting the flow of chi in it’s body.
Chi Kung is based on the interaction of Jing, Chi and Shen. These can be translated as mind, body and energy in western term, but this would not be entirely accurate descriptions.
A better description would be that Chi Kung works on the person as a whole holistic being, working on mental, emotional, physical and spiritual level.
The mind leads the chi, the chi leads the body.
Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is simple, direct and effective in the way it is practiced. The student is taught how to still the mind and to stimulate the chi to flow. This is called Self Manifested Chi Flow.
This is uncomplicated in its approach but profound in its depth.
Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is simple and powerful as it allows a person to be able to restore the Yin/Yang balance. Not just on a physical level but on all the levels described.
Like all practices the amount of effort put in has a direct relation to the effect of the practice. The type of practice is also equally, if not more important. In Shaolin Wahnam we focus on quality over quantity. We develop the skills not just the outward form of practice.
Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is a simple but deep art that can greatly enhance health, give mental and emotional clarity and spiritual cultivation.
